Located northwest of Worcester in Worcester County and settled as early as 1720, Barre is approximately 44 square miles with just over 5,000 residents today. Described as a “one neighborhood” community, residents of Barre can enjoy the Barre Falls Dam State Park, which features numerous bike and hiking trails. Barre is also home to Stone Cow Brewery.
Barre borders the neighboring towns of Hubbardston, Rutland, Oakham, New Braintree, Hardwick, Petersham, and Phillipston. Barre is accessible by Rts. 62, 32, and 122.
