Pinehurst, Billerica
Pinehurst is an area of homes in southeast Billerica, Massachusetts. Most of the local neighborhoods are located off of Cook Street, Boston Road, and Allen Road, the main roads in the area. These residences are great for commuters, as Route 3A, 62, 129, and the Middlesex Turnpike are all within a mile. The Northern Expressway, which travels directly into Boston, is also about ten miles away.
The homes in Pinehurst vary in shape in size, but consist mostly of 2-3 bedroom ranches and 3-4 bedroom Colonials. Most of the houses also have multiple bathrooms, large yards, more than a thousand square feet of living space, and a garage or off-street driveway. Many of these residences can be found in quiet neighborhoods branching off of Pines Road, Shawsheen Road, and Grandview Road.
Bicknell Town Forest and Shaloo Meadow Forest are located in Pinehurst. Both of these forests have trails for biking and hiking, as well as areas to naturewatch or have a picnic. Shawsheen River, a popular place to go rod and fly fishing as well as canoeing, runs along the eastern side of Shaloo Meadow Forest.
Micozzi Beach, which is located on the coast of Nutting Lake, is about five minutes west of this neighborhood. This lifeguard-supervised beach features volleyball and basketball courts, picnic areas with grills, and areas for sunbathing, swimming, and fishing. The eighteen hole public golf course at Country Club of Billerica can be found on the northern side of this area.
Towne Shopping Plaza, a small outdoor shopping center, is located on the western side of Pinehurst. This plaza features a handful of stores and restaurants as well as a grocery store and Altitude Trampoline Park. Larger shopping malls with hundreds of shops and eateries, such as the Burlington Mall and Wayside Commons in Burlington, Massachusetts are also just a short drive south of this area.
