Jeff's Place Children's Bereavement Center, Inc., which is based in Framingham, “offers hope and healing in a supportive community for grieving children, teens, young adults, families, and individuals,” according to its website. Jeff’s Place offers grief counseling, professional development and other services for people who are experiencing bereavement.

Participating agents, who each donated $100 toward the $500 sponsorship, include Valerie Cohen, Ali Corton, Rob Fontaine, Jody Troderman and Nelson Zide.

The Team Framingham runner, Stuart Hurowitz, will be running his second Boston Marathon and his fourth marathon overall on April 17, 2023.Ali Corton

“The clinicians at Jeff’s Place are a special lot of people who dedicate their careers to helping children and families deal with the loss of a loved one,” Hurowitz said. Anyone interested in donating can do so through Hurowitz’ donation page.

“We’ve made charitable donations to Jeff’s Place in the past, so we decided to support a Boston Marathon runner raising funds for the organization,” Ali said. “We didn’t know who the runner was when we committed, but coincidentally, he happens to be a longtime friend of mine.”
