Hitchinpost, Chelmsford

Hitchin Post is a neighborhood of homes just north of Interstate 495 in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. A dozen roads, including Htchinpost Road, Whippletree Road, and Rack Road, connect to form this neighborhood south off of Old Westford Road. Routes 4, 27, 110, and 129 are all nearby, allowing commuters to easily travel throughout the region.

The homes in the Hitchinpost neighborhood vary in size and style, but include 2-4 bedroom ranches, Colonials, Dutches, and split-entry houses. Many of these homes have more than one bathroom, a large yard, an attached garage, and more than one thousand square feet of living space. Some of these residences also have a scenic view of Beaver Brook, a small stream that runs through the center of the neighborhood.

Chelmsford Town Center, one of the town’s largest shopping areas, is just three miles east of the Hitchinpost neighborhood. Visitors of the town center can enjoy popular local restaurants and stores or check out a book from the town’s public library. Two large outdoor shopping plazas in Westford, Cornerstone Square and Westford Valley Marketplace, are both about four miles west of this neighborhood. Locals can also spend a day shopping at Chelmsford Mall and East Gate Plaza, both of which can be found in North Chelmsford.

There’s also plenty to do outdoors near Hitchin Post. Heart Pond Beach, a popular public beach in Chelmsford that’s always supervised by lifeguards, is about five miles south of this neighborhood. Golfers can play a round at one of the many nearby golf courses including Quail Ridge Country Club, Chelmsford Country Club, and Swanson Meadow Golf Course. During the winter, locals can enjoy a day of skiing at either Great Brook Ski Touring Center and Nashoba Valley Ski Area.
