South Chelmsford

South Chelmsford is the area of the town south of Parker Road and north of Great Brook Farm State Forest. Route 4 and Route 27 run along the east and west side of this area respectively, making it easy for locals to drive into the center of town or further south throughout central Massachusetts. Those looking to travel a bit further can take advantage of Interstate 495 and the Northwest Expressway, both of which can be accessed a few miles north of this region.

Most of the homes in South Chelmsford are located in a neighborhood off of Acton Road and Boston Road, the two main streets in the area. This region of the town features Capes, Colonials, ranches, and more with two or more bedrooms. Most homes in the area also have many bathrooms, large lawns, and an attached garage or off-street driveway. There are also some plots of land available for anyone looking to build a brand new home in the area.

South Chelmsford is surrounded by woodland areas including Great Brook Farm State Reservoir, Russell Mill Town Forest, and Billerica State Forest. Each of these forests feature paths for hiking, jogging, biking, or simply observing nature. Heart Pond, a popular place fish and swim at its public beach, is less than a mile away from the western edge of this area. Russell Mill Pond, which can be found on the eastern side of the region next to Russell Mill Forest, is a great place to fish for trout, bass, pickerel, and more.

South Chelmsford is conveniently located just a short drive away from the shopping centers in both Chelmsford and Billerica. Locals can drive a few miles north to East Gate Plaza, Chelmsford Mall, or Chelmsford Town Center. Between these shopping areas, you’ll find everything you need including grocery stores, pharmacies, fitness centers, and town’s most popular local businesses and restaurants. The Shops at Billerica and Treble Cove Plaza, two of Billerica’s largest shopping centers, are both less than a 15 minute drive east of South Chelmsford.
