West Chelmsford

West Chelmsford is the area of the town north of Interstate 495 and west of Route 4. The area’s convenient location near these two highways, as well as Route 40, Route 110, and the Northwest Expressway, make it great place to live for travelers and commuters alike.

The neighborhoods in West Chelmsford are mostly located off Graniteville Road, Lowell Road, School Street, and Old Westford Road, the main streets in the area. There are a variety of styles of houses in the area including Colonials, ranches, and Victorians. Most of these homes have 2-5 bathrooms, 2-4 bedrooms, and large lawns. Some of the larger residences in the area also have an attached garage.

The homes in West Chelmsford are just a couple miles east of Ronan Mcelligott Park, the site of a public playground and a sandy beach off the eastern coast of Nabnasset Pond in Westford, Massachusetts. Besides swimming, this pond is also a great place to kayak, canoe, and fish for bass, pickerel, perch, and more. Nabnasset Lake Country Club, which features a private 9 hole golf course, golf pro shop, and a large function hall, is located just east of Nabnasset Pond. Local golfers can also play a round at one of the many nearby public courses at Chelmsford Country Club, Swanson Meadows, and Butter Brook Golf Club.

Those living in West Chelmsford can also enjoy a day outside at one of the nearby state forests and conservations such as Stony Brook Conservation Land, Cider Mill Pond Conservation Area, and Great Brook Farm State Park. Each of these areas features trails for hiking, biking, and observing the local wildlife.

West Chelmsford is just a short drive from many of the area’s most popular places to go shopping. Along Route 110, locals will find Westford Valley Marketplace, Westford Plaza, and Cornerstone Square, three outdoor shopping centers. Chelmsford Town Center, the site of of many of the town’s most popular local businesses and eateries as well as the local library, is just a few miles east of West Chelmsford.
