East Brookfield Real Estate
The town of East Brookfield became part of the new town of Brookfield in 1673, and was officially incorporated as a separate town in 1920, making it the "newest" town (by date of incorporation) in Massachusetts. Just over 2000 residents occupy the 10 square miles that make up the town. East Brookfield is about 25 minutes to Worcester, with Boston and Providence each about an hour and 15 minutes away. Springfield and Hartford are each about an hour away. Two major routes run through East Brookfield: Route 49 gives easy access to Sturbridge, Brimfield, Southbridge, the Mass Turnpike and Interstate 84 to Connecticut. Route 9 leads westerly through the Brookfields and Ware to the Amherst Campus of the University of Massachusetts and easterly to Worcester, Shrewsbury, Northborough, and Westborough.
Town residents take pride in their school system, town services, senior citizen activities and the many volunteers who make municipal holiday observances possible and secure the success of the town's charitable events. Town residents are fond of the small community and proud of what has been accomplished since East Brookfield was founded.
