Located in Norfolk County, Plainville was settled as early as 1661. Plainville had a low population over the following centuries, until the 1950s, when the population grew 82% in just ten years as families began moving out of the cities into suburbs. Plainville has an area of 11.5 square miles that is home to just over 8,260 residents. Popular neighborhoods include Walnut Hill Estates and Nancy’s Way.
Plainville is bordered by the towns of Wrentham, Foxborough, Mansfield, North Attleborough, and Cumberland (RI). Route 1A and Route 106 run through Plainville.
