Dean Park is a small public park at the corner of Main Street and School Street in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. Visitors of the park can enjoy many outdoor activities including having a picnic, fishing at Dean Park Pond, and playing a sport at one of the park’s many athletic fields and courts.
Most of the homes near Dean Park are located within a quarter mile of its west side in a small neighborhood off of Main Street. This neighborhood is an enclosed circle formed by Carlton Street, Woodway Drive, Brookway Drive, and East Avenue. There are a variety of homes near the park including Colonials and split-entry houses with 3 or more bedrooms and ranches with 2-3 bedrooms. There are also a few plots of land roughly an acre in size for sale in the area which are great for someone looking to build a brand new house.
Dean Park is just a short drive away from many other local public parks including Prospect Park, Rawson Hill, Cold Harbor Brook, and Hop Brook. Each of these areas make an excellent place to walk the dog, go for a jog, have a picnic, or simply enjoy nature. Ski Ward Ski Area, one of the area’s most popular ski slopes, is only a mile east away on Main Street. Those who enjoy fishing, swimming, boating, and other water activities can make a short drive west to Lake Quinsigamond, which separates Shrewsbury from Worcester. There are also a couple of golf courses in the area such as Juniper Hill and Cyprian Keyes, which caters to the public.
Dean Park is conveniently located within a couple miles of Shrewsbury Crossing and Northborough Crossing, two outdoor shopping plazas that features dozens of excellent stores and restaurants. Many more shopping centers can be found along the Boston Turnpike such as Westmeadow Plaza and Stagecoach Plaza, the site of a Regal Cinema. Locals are also just a short drive away from the city atmosphere of Worcester in the west and Framingham in the east.
Those living near Dean Park can quickly travel into Boston via the Boston Turnpike and the Mass Pike, both of which are just a short drive from the park. There are many other highways nearby, including Route 140 and the Hartford Turnpike, which make it easy for locals to travel and commute to work.
