Walnut Ridge Estates is a small neighborhood of homes just north of the intersection of the Boston Turnpike and the Hartford Turnpike. The convenient location near many highways makes it easy for locals to travel into Worcester, Framingham, and Marlborough. This neighborhood is located east off of Walnut Street on an enclosed circle formed by Hillando Drive, Old Farm Circle, and Bayberry Circle.
The homes at Walnut Ridge Estates are mostly large Colonials with 3-4 bedrooms, 3-4 bathrooms, and more than 1,600 square feet of living space. Many of these houses also have an attached garage, a deck or patio, and central air conditioning. Residents can take the dog for a walk or do cardio around the neighborhood as it has no through traffic and paved sidewalks on both sides of the road.
This neighborhood is less than half a mile west of Northborough Crossing, an outdoor shopping plaza that features many department stores, a supermarket, and a few restaurants. Walnut Ridge Estates is also centrally located between Shrewsbury Crossing to the west and Westmeadow Plaza and Stagecoach Plaza to the east. Between these three shopping centers you’ll find many excellent stores and restaurants as well as a few supermarkets and a movie theater. Those who want a taste of the city nightlife can head about 10 miles west on Route 9 into Worcester, the site of many excellent shops, eateries, museums, and performing arts theaters.
Ski Ward Ski Area, where locals will find the ski slopes in Shrewsbury, is less than two miles north of this neighborhood. Dean Park and Eaton Pond Park are also just a short drive away from Walnut Ridge Estates. Both of these parks feature nature trails, open grassy areas, and small ponds where locals have had success catching fish. However, you’ll likely have even more success fishing at Lake Quinsigamond, which is about a 15 minute drive west of the neighborhood. This lake also has a small beach on its eastern coast as well as many launch ramps where visitors can get their boats on the water.
