Uxbridge is located 35 miles southwest of Boston, 16 miles southeast of Worcester, and 20 miles northwest of Providence. The census of 2009 reported close to 12,900 people in the town's 30 square miles. Route 146 provides access to Worcester, I-290, I-190, the Massachusetts Turnpike, I-95 in Providence and I-295 in Lincoln, Rhode Island. Route 16 connects west of Uxbridge through Douglas to Connecticut via I-395 at Webster, and east through Mendon to Boston, and Cape Cod by I-495 at Milford.
