Ware MA
A small- to medium-sized town of approximately 9,870 residents, Ware offers a peaceful, quiet place to live. Ware is located in Hampshire County, 24 miles east of North Hampton. The hillly area that is the valley of the Swift River and Ware River was settled in 1717, but Ware was not incorporated into Massachusetts until 1775. Ware borders the Quabbin Reservoir, as well as a reservation area encompassing the old lookout tower on Quabbin Hill. Ware has three historic districts, the Ware Center Historic District, the Ware Millyard Historic District, and the Church St. Historic District. The Church Street historic district is popular for a number of 19th century homes, as well as some in the Greek Revival style.
Ware borders the towns of New Salem, Petersham, Hardwick, New Braintree, West Brookfield, Warren, Palmer, and Belchertown.
