Located 9 miles north of Boston, Woburn is one of the larger towns in Middlesex County, with a population of 38,120 residents at the last Census in 2010. Woburn was incorporated in 1642, and has a 12.9 square mile area. In the 1960s Woburn’s population grew very quickly as more and more families left big cities for suburban bedroom communities like Woburn. Woburn is even more convenient for the many high tech firms located in the same corridor. Residents might enjoy visiting Horn Pond, or the Mystic River.
Woburn is bordered by Wilmington, Reading, Stoneham, Winchester, Lexington, and Burlington. Woburn is served by MBTA buses, and also has a stop on the MBTACommuter Rail.
