East Side Worcester

The East Side is the area of Worcester that is east of Route 146 and Interstate 290. This area is west of where Route 140 intersects with Route 9 and Route 20, making it an overall great location for commuters and travelers alike. The area is about an hour’s drive from Boston when taking the Massachusetts Turnpike, which is just a few miles south. The East Side features many large 3-6 bedroom Colonials, 2-3 bedroom ranches and Capes, and 1-2 condos and townhouses. The area is home of many condominium complexes such as Biscuit Lofts, Twin Oaks Condominiums, Bloomingdale Condominiums, and Crossview Condominiums.

There’s a little bit of everything in Worcester’s East Side. Residents can go shopping at South Plaza, the site of many stores, restaurants, and banks on Grafton Street. Locals can take Route 9 to the east to either White City Shopping Center or Shrewsbury Crossing, both of which are outdoor plazas featuring dozens of shops and eateries. Nature lovers are less than a mile west of Lake Quinsigamond, one of Worcester’s most popular places to kayak, canoe, or fish for salmon, trout, bass, and more. Green Hill Park, the site of many trails, picnic areas, and the public, 18-hole Green Hill Golf Course, can be found at the northern end of Worcester’s East Side. Gaskill Field, a complex of athletic fields and courts, Vernon Hill Playground, and the public, Dennis F. Shine Jr. Swimming Pool can also be found in the area.
