Indian Lake Neighborhood

Indian Lake covers of 200 acres of northern Worcester, Massachusetts. This lake features two public beaches, Shore Park and Indian Lake Park. Shore Park is the larger beach, with a large sandy area, boat house, and large grassy area for outdoor games and picnics. The lake is fifteen feet deep at its deepest point with an average depth of eight feet.

There are many different sizes and styles of homes near Indian Lake in Worcester. You can find larger, 4-5 bedroom Colonials, 2-3 bedroom Capes, as well as some smaller condos, apartments, and ranch-style houses. Many residences in the area have 1-4 bathrooms, a garage or private driveway, and scenic view of the lake.

The homes near Indian Lake are mostly located in quiet neighborhoods that are within walking distance of either of the lake’s two public beaches. The neighborhood closer to Shore Park is mainly along Indian Hill Road, which forms loops from Ararat Street to Hockanum Way. The area closer to Indian Lake Park can be found off of W Boylston Street, which connects to Route 12, Route 122A, and Interstate 190, making it a great location for commuters.

Locals can find many other great places to spend a day outside around the homes near Indian Lake. Cascades West Conservation Area, Bovenzi Conservation Park, and Green Hill Park are all within a fifteen minute drives of the area’s neighborhoods. Each of these sites has bike paths, hiking trails, picnic areas, and spots to go birdwatching.

Those who actively enjoy fishing and boating are welcome at Indian Lake. There are a variety of fish living in the lake including crappie, carp, and perch. Boaters have access to the lake via a concrete ramp at the southern end of the lake. Other popular fishing and boating spots in the area include Wachusett Reservoir and Lake Quinsigamond, both of which are a short drive east of the neighborhoods in this area.

There are plenty of places to shop near Indian Lake. Most notably is the Greendale Mall, which features over thirty stores and restaurants. There are plenty more shopping options in the center of Worcester, which is less than a ten minute drive from homes near the lake. Residents can also take Interstate 290 east to Solomon Pond Mall in Marlborough.
